To date, Kenny has performed in over 200 BBC radio plays, often playing several characters in a production, which has provided him with extraordinary versatility of age and accents. He has recorded 25 talking books for authors like Ian Banks and Christopher Brookemyre and has over 15 years experience in corporate and commercial voice-overs, working on campaigns large and small.
Accents include; Glasgow, Orkney, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London, RP, Belfast, Dublin, Welsh, Generic South West, Australian, South African, New York, Standard American, Southern American.
Kenny is from a small village in the Scottish Borders. He graduated from Queen Margaret’s College, Edinburgh in 2000 with a BA (Hons with distinction) in acting, the first from his college to win the BBC radio “Carleton Hobbs” Bursary award. He spent his first year as an actor at the BBC in London, working exclusively in radio drama. He won ”Best Male Performance” at the VOX Awards, 2017.
Kenny also works in TV (most recently in the Ian Rankin ITV Drama “Doors Open” for Stephen Fry’s Sprout Pictures and Sony/Starz Outlander) film, theatre, animations and computer games (Assassins Creed Unity).
