Elle Mace is a distinguished practitioner at the forefront of integrating therapy and coaching to deliver transformative results. Through her own clinic, she offers group sessions, and personalised 1:1 sessions, manages a podcast, serves as a CPD trainer, and hosts retreats around the world.
Elle herself lived with an eating disorder; her unhealthy relationship with food started when she was just 10 after receiving a few comments about being fat. For several years later, she tried to starve herself, which would eventually result in binge eating, thus putting on the weight that she’d starved to lose. She would compete with herself as to how little she could eat in one day: on one particular day she only ate two Satsumas, whilst doing a full day at school and playing in a netball match. She was beginning to struggle at school and then in college because she was constantly running on an empty stomach, which then affected her mental state.
It is her triumph over this that has fuelled her passion to help others.
There are people who live to eat, and there are those people who eat to live. Either relationship is valid, but Elle recognises the pivotal role that food plays in our daily life, particularly our relationship with food. Her personal experience means she has an empathetic understanding of what causes bad emotions towards foods, such as past traumas, imposter syndrome, comparison, and a sense of belonging.
