Hannah is an English voiceover artist, award-winning radio presenter, BBC continuity announcer; A versatile broadcaster with a warm, natural, engaging delivery, and 20 years experience in narration, commercials, IVR, explainers and e-learning, for the BBC, ITV, and a range of corporate and commercial clients.
Hannah’s voice career began when she was a presenter on BBC Three Counties Radio, first on the Breakfast Show, then Drivetime, when she was asked to be the voice of British Gas online training, a role which continued for a decade.
During this time, she spent three years as a BBC staff continuity announcer on BBC One and Two, before leaving to go freelance as a TV/radio presenter and voiceover artist in 2001. Hannah continues to be an announcer – after 4 years on BBC Four, since 2006 she’s been heard globally by 85 million viewers as the voice of BBC World News.
Hannah works with Discovery Education on a range of their videos for primary/secondary schools, and she’s been the voice of criminologists and witnesses in some rather gruesome real life crime documentaries for the CI Channel.
Hannah is passionate about story-telling, so she loves narrating documentaries.
She has been nominated in the prestigious One Voice Awards 2020 for Best Performance in TV Narration for Royals on the Frontline (a 3-parter, also called Windsor’s at War) for Yesterday (UKTV), about the close relationship between the British Royal family and the armed forces. She also narrated The World’s Most Incredible Hotels (13-parter), and, Heir we go Again, about royal baby Princess Charlotte.
Her voice has been described as trustworthy, natural, conversational, classy, friendly, calm, authoritative, encouraging, warm, engaging, upbeat.
Clients: From her home studio, she’s recorded a series of explainer films for Clearblue, extensive e-learning programmes for Unilever (ongoing….), JLL Property, the MOD and NHS Choices, charity films, IVR messages, in-flight announcements , and national commercial campaigns for clients such as Bravissimo, Promensil and 118118.
Studio: Hannah’s home studio includes Rode NT1-A microphone and Audacity editing facilities. She lives within easy reach of London, so can easily attend recording sessions there if required.
Hannah is also an engaging and experienced presenter – for ITV She’s fronted and voiced 4 factual series (The Flying Winemakers, Taste of the South, Cathedral Cities and By Royal Appointment) and narrated another, Vicars’ Wives.
