Laura Hamilton has combined her love for presenting and her love for property renovating by presenting television shows, including Beat My Build (2013) for Channel 4, and Cowboy Builders and Bodge Jobs (2015) for Channel 5.
Laura’s first foray into the world of television was as a runner for Dermot O’Leary, before working on a number of backstage jobs for Top of the Pops, The Buckingham Palace Jubilee Celebrations, T4, Big Brother, The Bill, Stardust and Harry Potter. After four years behind the camera, she took on a new venture, appearing on Fun Song Factory for CITV, Dead Man’s Cards (2006), Magicians (2007), Nickheads (2007), and the Nickelodeon UK Kids’ Choice Awards in 2007, plus popular shows This Morning and Daybreak.
One thing is for sure, Laura seldom relaxes. As well as being a busy presenter, she is training to become a pilot, is a mother to two children, and, alongside her husband Alex, opened ‘Lord Roberts on The Green’ in 2017. LROTG is a coffee shop, deli and post office, which became a popular spot in their local area, before being sold on in 2022. She is also a great lover of fitness, releasing the app ‘Laura Hamilton’s Total Body Workout’ in 2016, and presenting the action-adventure show Fort Boyard (2011-2014) for ITV.
She is never one to back down from a challenge, taking part in the popular ITV series Dancing on Ice (2011), Winter Wipeout (2012) and in the first series of The Jump (2014), just four weeks after the birth of her first son.
Laura is also a keen writer, regularly providing content for Hello! Magazine, The Mail on Sunday, and A Place in the Sun magazine, as well as video content for her half a million social media followers.
In 2015, after noticing some unexplainable bruises, Laura found out she had the autoimmune disease, Immune Thrombocytopenia. ITP is a platelet disorder where your blood doesn’t clot like it should, meaning excessive bleeding can occur. Since her diagnosis, she has taken it upon herself to offer support and advice to fellow sufferers.
