Kev

Kev is an experienced voice artist, news broadcaster, producer and comedy writer whose work has been heard on brands including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 live, QVC and the Travel Channel.

His warm, conversational delivery is well suited to continuity announcing, commercials, narration, audio description and corporate projects.  His versatility is such that, whilst his experience as a news broadcaster allows him to deliver scripts clearly and with authority, he can also effectively appeal to a younger demographic through his natural enthusiasm and youthful sound.

His career began in 2000 as the breakfast show news and entertainment presenter of Liverpool radio station Juice FM.  He became News Editor the following year and rose to the challenge of single-handedly presenting live rolling coverage of the September 11th attacks, making the story accessible to the station’s young adult demographic.  A move to Galaxy FM (now Capital FM) in 2002 saw Kevin installed in the network’s newsrooms in Manchester and Leeds, before becoming breakfast news and entertainment presenter for the biggest radio station outside London, Galaxy Yorkshire, in 2005.  As Senior Journalist he led the development of journalists across the network in presenting and writing content in a conversational and accessible style, helped to secure Sony Radio Academy and New York Festivals awards and presented live rolling coverage of the July 7th attacks.  Kev moved on from Galaxy in 2011 to go freelance.  Since then, in addition to presenting news bulletins for BBC Radio 5 live and national commercial radio brands including Heat Radio and Smooth Radio, he has co-produced and featured in a BBC Radio 1 documentary, “Twitfalls: Social Media Gets Nasty”.

Having spread his wings outside of news broadcasting, Kev is now a voice artist with credits including promos for The Jewellery Channel and QVC and continuity announcing for the Travel Channel.  He also writes topical comedy content for commercial radio stations and his work has featured in BBC Radio 4’s “Newsjack”.

Kev works from his home studio providing broadcast quality audio via ipDTL, with the flexibility to meet your deadlines and expectations. He’s also more than happy to travel to a studio of your choosing if you prefer.
