SUMMARY:International Mens Day speakers at GREAT BRITISH SPEAKERS
DESCRIPTION:Inspiring International Mens Day Speakers\nWhy Celebrate International Men’s Day?\nCoinciding with Movember\, International Men’s Day (IMD) – 19th November –International Men’s Day provides a platform to highlight men’s achievements and contributions to society\, while also addressing the challenges they face. This observance aims to promote positive male role models\, foster discussions on men’s health and well-being\, and encourage conversations about gender equality and inclusivity. \nBy recognising International Men’s Day\, we can create awareness and promote dialogue on issues that affect men in various aspects of life. It allows us to acknowledge their strengths\, embrace diversity\, and work towards creating a more equitable and supportive environment for all. Let us come together to celebrate the positive impact of men and address the issues that matter most to them on this significant occasion. \nWith ‘Toxic Masculinity‘ said to be one of the main reasons why men are less likely to seek medical advice\, International Men’s Day (IMD) aims to promote a different narrative. It seeks to empower men\, encouraging them to prioritize their well-being and feel assured when seeking support. By doing so\, IMD equips men with valuable tools to become positive role models for future generations\, fostering a healthier and more supportive environment for all. \nInternational Mens Day Facts!\n\nIn 2021\, 4\,704 men in England\, Wales and Scotland took their own lives\, roughly 13 a day\nMen make up ¾ of all deaths by suicide\nMen are twice as likely to be victims of violent crime\n95% of UK prisoners are male\n\nFind an International Mens Day Speakers – Our International Men’s Day Speakers are here to offer men guidance and support\, by providing an open space to discuss sensitive subjects\, such as mental health and wellbeing\, male-cancers/physical health\, relationships and fatherhood\, and gender and equality. The day is also in celebration of inspirational male role models\, many of whom have shown true resilience and overcome great adversities to get to where they are today. Plus\, it’s also an opportunity to appreciate male role models in business\, and the many men who have made fantastic achievements in history and modern-day society. \nIt’s probably unfair to hero just one of our Inspiring International Mens Day Speakers\, however\, Roman has probably created the greatest waves of late within the media to highlight the issues: \nFeatured Speaker – Roman Kemp | International Mens Day Speakers\nWhilst best known for being a radio DJ and TV presenter\, Roman Kemp’s work on male mental health\, depression\, anxiety and suicide is fast eclipsing his media career. In 2020\, his friend and colleague Joe Lyons took his own life after silently battling with mental health difficulties. Shocked by this\, Roman has made it his mission to ensure everyone – particularly men – is able to speak up about their problems and to seek help before it’s too late. He brought this to the mainstream through his BBC3 documentary Our Silent Emergency. \nSince this sad time\, Roman has spoken at universities\, and companies about male mental health and suicide\, and has teamed up with the mental health charity MIND to promote the importance of speaking out. \n \n  \n  \nInternational Mens Day Speakers | Similar Speakers\n\nOur top 15 Inspirational Men’s Day Speakers\nSpeaking Up on Men’s Mental Health – ‘Our Silent Emergency’ with Roman Kemp\n\n  \n“A Chat With…” Episodes with our International Mens Day Speakers | Podcast\n\nClive Branson | Overcoming Adversity\, Disability \nBen Smith | LGBTQ+ Anti-Bullying & Endurance\nAndrew Pain | Domestic Violence Isn’t Gendered\nAlex Staniforth | Mind Over Mountains Men’s Mental Health\nDave Walsh | World’s Strongest Disabled Man\nSteve Carr | ‘Losing Myself to Find Everything’ – Suicide Awareness\nWinston Ben Clements | Disability & Workplace Equality \n\n  \nLinks to Resources | International Mens Day Speakers and Support \n\nInternational Men’s Day\nContact ‘Mind’ – Mental Health Charity\n7 Ideas for Embracing International Men’s Day in Your Workplace\nWhy International Men’s Day is Important for Inclusive Cultures\nWhat can Employers do to Improve Men’s Health?\n\n  \nHire the best International Mens Day Speakers\nWith the worrying statistics on male self-harm and suicide\, it’s more vital than ever to ensure men are supported and they know that they don’t have to suffer in silence.
